Four years ago, Jennifer had a terrifying nightmare: she was face down on the ground and she couldn’t breathe. She woke up from the dream gasping for air – her sleep apnea had gotten to the point that getting through each night involved anxiety, bad dreams, and little to no restful sleep.
Her first solution was to stop sleeping on her back or stomach, but that soon wasn’t enough. She then abandoned her bed and spent each night sleeping in a recliner. In four years, she wore out two chairs.
Finally, she sought out professional help. A specialist ran a sleep study and she finally had the answer to her troubled nights: obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Jennifer bought a CPAP device and began using it to treat her sleep disorder. However, she was soon diagnosed with an enlarged heart and knew that she had to take serious, definitive action regarding her OSA. A few months after beginning CPAP use, she began looking for an alternative and learned about the Surgical Sleep Solutions.
“There is something to be said about doing your homework and finding a professional who can get the job done, and I found just that in Dr. Taylor,” said Jennifer. “Everything I heard, everyone I talked to, said he was the best.”
Jennifer attended Dr. Taylor’s Sleep Seminar in Missoula, Montana. She said, “When I went to the seminar, Dr. Taylor answered the question, what if I am happy with my CPAP? He replied that if you are happy, sleeping well, and compliant, then this procedure is not for you. It was at that moment I knew it was for me.”
She requested an evaluation the next morning and set up her travel arrangements immediately. Her bimaxillary advancement surgery, performed by Dr. Taylor, provided immediate results and 24 hours later she was sleeping comfortably without the use of CPAP - or her recliner.
"From the moment we came to the seminar in Missoula, to the evaluation the next day with Dr. Taylor, and up to today, the staff and everyone at Surgical Sleep Solutions has been professional, kind, and treated us like family. I want to help spread the word about this procedure to help so many that suffer like I did with OSA."
